Another idea

The reason I even looked into Pinterest in the beginning was as a photographer i thought it was a great place to find cool poses to try out at different shoots and to keep me being creative.   Then I figured out boards, and saw so much good food and crafts that my pinning to on a mind of its own.

I still look through my photo ideas board alot esp. right before a shoot.  I had a shoot on Monday that was a "friendship" shoot. A bunch of friends got together to get pictures taken as a group. It was probably one of the most fun shoots I have ever done since they were willing to try anything and be silly.

We started of with this idea -http://pinterest.com/pin/107171666102192649/   since the sun seemed to be casting a perfect shadow.

Here is my result:

We took some more fun pictures that I will post on pinterest so that others can "repin"such as these:

an action shot ( staged of course lol)

A perspective shot - A very fun idea

goofy shot, showing off personalities

I am trying another pin but it is for my sisters birthday so I don't want to post it until after I do it so that she doesn't see it. Although I don't really know if she reads my blog anyways!!

HAPPY EASTER

Spent a great day with family and friends at an Easter egg hunt at our friends the Scharfs... Made me wonder why I am  doing this blog since in this one Easter party, she used MULTIPLE Pinterest ideas!

She made colorful hard boiled eggs
http://pinterest.com/pin/107171666102650164/
which came out delicious and beautiful

She had the Peeps and jelly bean flower vases ( which I now have one on my dining room table)  Super cute looking although not edible... the  real flowers caused a lot of moisture,  much to my kids sadness- because it looked good enough to eat!

She handed out Peeps s'mores - which were so easy her husband was able to make a s'more  himself!

What did we do before Pinterest?  How did we have any creative thoughts and ideas and then remember to try them??    Thank you Pinterest and thank you readers - A big thank you to those who click on an ad ( just a little reminder :)

My friend Katie said we should have pinterest parties - so we are going to schedule one.  Leave me a comment if you would be interested in being at my first pinterest party. I will probably have 5-10 ladies over to the studio . We would all bring a yummy dish that we got from pinterest,  we would choose a couple pinterest hairstyles and try them - and we would pick one take home craft and I would get the supplies and we would blog how it went.
I will probably try to have 1 a month with different people invited to each one.

Let me know if you are interested!

And more important than any pinterest pin -

Happy Easter

Dry erase picture

http://pinterest.com/pin/107171666102714289/

This one I made - and it was very easy!! I didn't have to buy anything , or spend alot of time on it but it is an idea I would have never had on my own.  Take a piece of paper ( and I used lined paper like in the picture but you wouldn't have to)  and then I found an old frame I had laying around.  I put the paper in the frame and  'TA DA'   I have a cool framed dry erase board .

I brought it to work with me , and hung it on the wall and we take turn writing deep thoughts on it -
such as ...
"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you'll be a mile from them, and you'll have their shoes."

And sometime we make it useful and use it as an 86'ed board (those of you in the restaurant biz know what that means)

I think it would be a great thing for kids to use . You could put different letters of the alphabet in the frame and have your kids practice tracing the letters.    Or write a Bible verse you want to memorize and then erase a word a day and see if you can remember.  Or jot down a recipe and have it hanging in your kitchen so you have it handy,  have one for each child and write something you love about them everyday , or a to do list  ...the ideas are endless

What are some of your ideas you could do with this framed dry erase board??

Leave me a comment and let me know-

ALSO - Please share my blog with others who might be like me,  and just keep pinning but need encouragement to actually try some of the pins.  ( there is an easy fb share and twitter share below)

And like always - feel free to click an ad...  They pay me for that!!

Thanks
and keep pinning!

Glow Easter Eggs

Ok so here is another Pinterest  Idea I had pinned on my board. Thought it was a great idea. My kids would love a glow in the dark hunt.   SO for small group last night Katie said she was going to get the stuff to try it. To see the Glow Eggs Pin- Click here

So here it goes-
We eat dinner
We chat a little
We decide to stuff some eggs because it is getting dark

Out come the plastic eggs
Out come the glow bracelet ( from the dollar store)
Out come the tiny glow sticks

Now the fun part - right??? Putting the glow sticks into eggs and watching them glow....

Well first off the tiny glow sticks barely make the egg glow - but they do fit very nicely

Secondly the bracelet size seemed to big - but finally after figuring out how to tie the glow stick

we managed to stick it in the eggs and it looked good ... but it was not easy!! IT took 3 grown woman quite a while to stuff maybe 20 -30 eggs.  We were afraid the first eggs would stop glowing before we finished.  Plus it didn't take to long for our fingers to start hurting, trying to bend an shove the glow sticks in the eggs with out the eggs popping open.   We did have a few jumbo sized eggs and they were easier to stuff but not as bright.

But needless to say our kids loved the hunt- it took about  5 min ... not sure it was totally worth the effort but it was something cool and different.

Hey , while you are here reading my blog, why not click on one of the ads.... it says I can earn money if you do  :)

Let me know if you tried this and your results or if there is another pinterest pin you would like me to try out :)

Happy Pinning!

My first Pinterest try

Ok so we all know I am bad at blogging , but I had this idea so I thought I would go with it and see what would happen.

I have been "pinning" alot lately,  lots of recipes, craft ideas , photo ideas etc... and I was looking through all the great ideas on my boards and realizedI am alot like the "set it and forget it " commercial.  I pin cool ideas  and forget them.  So I decided I would make a blog to try the ideas I "pin" and let you know what works and what doesn't and if you pin anything you want me to try please leave me the pinterest link so I can added it to my boards to try.

So lets start with an easy one,  because its food of course!!  Leave it to me to try a recipe first :)   And being a photographer I should have taken a picture or even pictures as I made these but of course I didnt and it didnt last long enough to even snap a picture with my I- phone .

Frozen banana bites.

YUM!  I didn't follow the recipe since it sounded simple enough,  melt chocolate chips with some peanut butter and then dip in pieces of banana and freeze on wax paper.

Ok so I melted probably about a cup of chocolate chips with about 1/4 cup of pb. ( just put it in the microwave)   I cut up bananas in about 1 inch sections and dipped them until covered in the choc peanut butter mix.  I didn't have wax paper so I just put some aluminum foil on a cookie sheet and put banana chunks on it.  I let freeze.  Now the recipe said the longer it froze the better but me and my family beg to differ.  About an hour in it was perfect, chocolate was hardened banana was slightly frozen but you could still bite into it easily.  YUM!  As it froze more  the husband and kids were less of a fan , although they all tasted good to me.

So  I have moved my banana bites to my "I TRIED THIS"  board. And it gets a 5 star rating for taste and 1 for  difficulty level. - super easy !

Well thanks for reading. I will take pictures next time  - promise
